Harvested baskets of Royal Velvet fine Lavender and Lavandin Grosso picked fresh from our gardens.

Our Lavender Harvest Celebration this July attracted over 100 people!

We are sure that we would have had a record turnout if it weren't for the heavy rains and strong winds that prevailed for most of Saturday afternoon.
This year's growing season has been full of challenges.  The cold wet Spring resulted in our Lavender blooming at least 10 days later than in previous years.  Also, we encountered a record number of rain showers while harvesting our lavender.  This resulted in the harvest taking two weeks longer than scheduled to complete.

At the end of June we had the pleasure of visiting beautiful Provence, France!  The main focus of our trip was to meet with Lavender farmers and chemists but also we were looking forward  to seeing  fields of glorious lavender in bloom.  Imagine how surpised we were to see that the lavender crop was not in bloom.  Their lavender crop was also behind schedule by a couple of weeks because of a cold wet Spring!

Stoney Hollow's 2009 Lavender Harvest Celebration will take place on Saturday and Sunday July 17th and 18th.  Details will be provided on this page in early 2009.  Be sure to mark next year's calender with the dates and check our website often for news items.
